Before Lindy Glow
I shared my family story with other women, asking if their mood or emotions have ever been affected because of their hormones.
Turns out I am not alone and you aren’t either! Almost every woman I’ve spoken to has had very similar issues, if not worse.
HOW I FOUND “MY GLOW”
My women’s wellness and holistic education started at the age of 18 around the same year I began my modeling and entertainment career.
I worked 6 jobs, danced in a company and attended school full time while also traveling weekly in and out of Toronto and New York. I was burning the candle at both ends. I was also on birth control at this point of my life and my mental health was slowly becoming out of my control.
I developed body dysmorphia and depression. I would have suicidal thoughts and treated my body horribly with lack of nutrition and self care… and the career path I chose did not help!
“My money relied on my measurements, and my measurements Affected my pay.”
My goal was to be a Victoria Secret model. My manager would tell me I “had a face people would buy to put on someone else’s body.” That alone drove me into a constant “must do more” mindset. I never felt like I was “enough” because in all reality I was trying to be someone else and not myself… which I realized down the road IS ENOUGH!
Let’s get better acquainted! FACTS ABOUT ME
+ 1. Where were you born? What was your childhood like?
I was born in Honolulu Hawaii. My childhood was filled with travel and love. My parents had a deep love for one another and life was “free” in a sense. Once my mother passed away that's when complications became more apparent. My emotions never got to be fully expressed. I was rejected by family members and dealt with emotional issues because of it. I spent a lot of time alone. My imagination ran wild. I lived in a beautiful Victorian home where I had a large room full of arts and crafts, video games, movies, and toys to keep my creative and active side on a constant go. If I wasn't in my room I would be climbing trees or in my garden secret forts. I loved storytelling and character work. I've truly been an actress and entertainer from a young age.
+ 2. What are your hobbies and interests outside of your coaching?
I love anything artistic or creative. I enjoy dancing and modeling. But more importantly what comes from those things which are music and fashion. When I was a child I would sketch out my school outfits. I never learned to make clothes but I sure love creating the image of what could be. I find so much peace when I'm gardening and cooking. They go hand in hand for me. I would love to own my own land where I could eat what I grow and harvest. I also LOVE being social. Meeting new people and exchanging conversion gives me such a high.
+ 3. Where is your favorite country you lived in and why?
Iceland! Not only is it eco friendly but it's so peaceful. There, you don't need to worry about where your child is running off because the crime rate is slim to none. I long for peace in life. That culture is an amazing example of what humanity should represent. Second to that is Barcelona Spain! And again it's because of the people and way of life!
+ 4. What is your version of self care?
Self care for me is self love. So truly it is everything that fulfills my needs and wants that also support my health. My go-to is a nightly bath with oil bubbles and essential oils. It is my private time to recharge my mind and muscles, take in the wonderful aroma, and center myself. I do so many things daily when it comes to self-care. I've created the ideal lifestyle for myself that caters to those self-loving activities.
+ 5. What are you currently obsessing over?
Minimizing my life. I'm currently trying to eliminate all the “clutter” in my life, home, and head. Holding on to unnecessary thoughts or physical objects is not setting me up for success. I have been very much diving into facing my fears and with that takes a lot of decluttering. It has turned into an obsession, to say the least. And has given me so many emotional rewards.
